One of the best editors you could ever hope to work for in the comics industry is making a job change and leaving DC Entertainment.
Ben Abernathy is the reason Tom Fowler and I were able to create Mysterius The Unfathomable as one of the last books put out by DC imprint Wildstorm. He wrote me with the stringent demands of “what kind of book would you like to do?” and “that sounds great!” Ben made that book a joy to work on and let the collected paperback be filled with cool extras so that it’s one of the works I’m proudest of.
Recently Ben got Gabriel Hardman and I to do a Batman story for DC Digital, which will be available next month, colored by Bettie Breitweiser so it’s the whole Agents of Atlas gang, but with Batman. It’s a little hard to not think of him being with DC and making magic happen there, but he seems excited about his next move so I’ll just look forward to some Abernathy work coming from a new place.
