  • Oy the Soreness

I’m bone-tired. A full day of yard work and building things like planters and moving dirt around. The most hassle was moving a wood shed with all the wood (mostly my former fence) to a different area and making it look better. I also mass-murdered some snails which I don’t feel good about, but if they would change their appetite to eat only weeds, we could come to an arrangement. There’s still daylight, still time to put up that basketball backboard I found at a rummage sale, but just typing this seems to be all I’ve got left for today. Several new house projects occurred to me while doing these, but I stuck to the program and didn’t start them in the middle of today’s jobs, which is like, wisdom and stuff.

Maybe now I’ll get the firepit going and relieve some of the woodshed’s load. Hope you had a good day outside too.

Well, I wasn’t too productive in the garden today, but I took my 3 year old on our monthly daddy/son haircut-trip-with-a-balloon-and-a-stop-at-the-pancake-house-if-you-are-good-and-a-stop-at-the-butcher-shop-if-daddy-is-good trip. He got a pink balloon, but is convinced it is orange. I got some ring bologna, hot dogs, and ham spread for my wife (I don’t have to approve, only accept her lifestyle).

Then I played some Mario cart with the 3 year old, dropped off a load of old clothes and kitchen goods at Salv-Al. I grilled dinner (hot dogs), read my son his latest issue of Green Lantern Emerald Adventures, and put in five hours of work around all of that.

I don’t have a fire pit, but I do have a bottle of Bombay Sapphire, a bottle of Noilly Prat, and Rear Window from Netflix.

That kind of trumps my firepit!
