    lieber studies the earth.

This is it, showtime! UNDERGROUND #1 is in comics shops today from Image Comics. Tonight, Steve (see in Ape Cave, above) and I will be signing at Bridge City Comics in Portland, Oregon. It all begins NOW.

Word is erupting from all over today- here’s a good review of issue 1 from Doug Zawisza at Comic Book Resources. I especially like how TFAW.com used the cover art from issue 3 on their home page today. Elisabeth Forsythe from TFAW did a video interview with us where I hold a guitar and no one pixelated Lieber’s nether regions, and speaking of video, Casey McKinnon from A Comicbook Orange got into the spirit and dressed appropriately for Underground Day.

So we’re off to a rockin’ start. Hope some of you can come out tonight to Bridge City and say hi. Thanks for your support!

Hi Jeff! Congrats on the launch! I had such a good time dressing up as an “adventurer”… I actually came out on set and announced in the most naive voice I could saying “I’m an adventurer!” ;) I enjoyed the comic… especially the second issue which is SO action packed. Good luck to you and Steve! xox

Casey, thanks a ton- and you make a good adventurer! We may have to do a spinoff called MCKINNON’S GOLD or something…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I hate that all this cool comics stuff is happening in Portland and I no longer live there. Sheesh. You all stink.

Oh, and it was a good issue, of couse. You already knew that, though, right?

    Hey Jeff,
I hit the video interview. It’s good to actually see you. Except you look like Wil Wheaton. And you need to let Steve talk more next time. I’m looking forward to more Underground. I’m happy it’s getting some good press.
