Agents of Atlas is is one of the most satisfying story I’ve read in years (and Hardman’s artwork is awesome!).

Great stuff, Mr. Parker and Co. I hope that the reactions to the upcoming AoA stuff … including the two-issue X-crossover … means only bigger and better things for the characters. Keeping my fingers crossed for the third volume!

The reviews are coming in: http://weeklycomicbookreview.com/2009/09/18/agents-of-atlas-11-review/

I think the reviewer was a little harsh about Jade Claw under the circumstances.

Villains by their nature tend to get a little development here, a little there over the course of many years. Magneto took over 25 years to become the character as we think of him today.

The reviewer makes it seem like Parker should have done the same for Jade Claw in a few issues. Sheesh, give Parker a few story-arcs with the character before you declare him incapable of fleshing her out.

Agree with him about Temugin and I’d add that I liked that his transformation always felt in-character. He was a villain for Kilingony reasons and he became a hero for Kilingony reasons. Sometimes villain-to-hero transformations seem forced, (Venom comes to mind) but with Temugin it all felt like a logical progression of his character. :-)

Overall, a good review so it doesn’t bother me. I’ve seen a couple of people complain about Jade being a Dragon Lady, but that’s my point- staying under the corrupting influence of Master Plan and Mr. Lao does that to a person. Also, I really, really love the Dragon Lady character from Terry and the Pirates, it’s a bit of a tribute to her. She also exists to show that Jimmy’s not infallible, he has an idealistic romantic nature- had he actually been listening to Lao other than to hear what he wanted to hear, he might have expected some trouble! Mostly it’s a cautionary tale about trying to rekindle old flames.
And as you say, she’s far from gone. Also, I like the word “klingony.”

Thanks! :-D Also, thanks for spelling “klingony” the way I had intended. Somehow I accidentally typed an extra “i” in it, twice. *scratches head* Maybe a spilled pop on the keyboard? Doesn’t seem stuck now. Huh.
