Wolverine, you A-hole…
So Colleen and Lieber have already done their Hero Initiative charity covers, and I have not. This time it’s Wolverine: Weapon X blank covers to be drawn on and auctioned, and since I don’t draw regularly, I needed to spend some time doing warm-up roughs to click into gear. Unless I change my mind, my piece will probably be based upon this last sketch.

I think I can do something cool with this basic notion. But as I said, I needed to do roughs just to get to this point because I’m so rusty. And for some reason, all my roughs had Wolverine being a complete a**hole. I have to get stuff like this out of my system, it’s for charity. Below the cut- snikt!
Sure a corporate a-hole isn’t necessarily so bad, but I’m thinking he was involved in the mortgage crisis.

This was just uncalled for and gets him kicked out of the X-mansion for a while.

You’ll pry his adamantium off his cold dead bones, because Logan is a hunter!

Wolverine? A-hole. But bid on my piece when this auction happens.

I think either the third or fourth one…
Personally I think the third one would be legendary and people would talk about it for years to come.
You know you want to be a legend…

As much as I love all of them—really!—I must beg and plead for Wolverine chasing the panda. Seriously. Just think of the awesomeness.

What was that Tobin was saying about writers only introducing animals to their stories so that they could be killed…?

If you could add the panda to the third one, i think you’d be on to something magical.

Hey Jeff, Go with the third one, but instead of Scott and Jean, have Dr. Strange and Wong with Wolverine in the middle. The tag line would be “Welcome to the Avengers Logan, Hope you survive the experience.”

Wow Marc, you topped Culver! They’re sending these Hero Initiative covers to the wrong people.

Needs more Beast.
But I really like 3 and 4.
3 mostly cause it torques off the Scott/Jean shippers.
