  • Books, Addendum

To close out those thoughts on book buying the other day (like I’m never going to mention “books” again), yesterday I thought a quick trip to the book store would be a good way to kick off 2009. I picked up Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and have already burned through half of it; it has many good points to make about the way we view successful people and the truth of their paths to being distinguished. I’ll probably talk about it a little next week when I’m done.

Dorian had the edition I found. Same exact one maybe?

If you remember me going on about John Wyndham a few months ago, then you’ll appreciate the significance that I found two cheap copies of his most noted books that I was having trouble finding- Midwich Cuckoos and Day of the Triffids. This again confirms my suspicions that 2009 is going to be a much more reasonable year that goes along with my self-interests. YES.

I enjoyed Blink, so now I am going to read Outliers, thanks.

Hmh, I’ve heard about Outliers, they were hyping it at the bookstore a few days back (I ended up getting O.S.Card’s Masterpieces antho instead).

I am now obsessed with finding a copy of a book I just read about in the Believer called LET’S KILL UNCLE. It’s a children’s book, and it sounds absolutely bizarre based on the piece. Anyone ever read it?
