  • Word Balloon Talks With Me, Jeff Parker.

Over at Newsarama, we all sound like hopeless mumblers compared to the radio pro John Siuntres. These are always great, even if I’m in them. John and I talk about the upcoming Agents of Atlas and the oddly disappearing X-Men First Class. Go listen, or Momma Cage will MAKE YOU LISTEN.

    Jeff,
I really enjoyed your interview.I am placing my order for the AoA book as I write to you.
You mentioned trying to find a copy of “Day of the Triffids” and I wanted to send you a search I did on Amazon.com

    http://www.amazon.com/Day-Triffids-20th-Century-Rediscoveries/dp/0812967127/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1221867638&sr=8-1

This is for the book, but there are references to the movies based on the book.

    Hope this helps.

    Jonathan

I was trying to find it the rewarding way in a bookstore, but you’re right, I need to just give up and Amazon it. Plus that will help me qualify for free shipping when I order a movie! Thanks Jonathan, glad you liked the interview and thanks for supporting AOA.

I gotta say, that MA: AVENGERS had the greatest “Aw, DAG!” ratio of any book that came out this week. Possibly this month. You even managed to out-”Aw, DAG!” ALL-STAR SUPERMAN. That’s an achievement.

    Hi Jeff:
I like this interview: is more structrured than the other and touch a lot of themes: monster, sentry, first class, AOA….

Also I like the x-men classic age (Lee-Kirby) because are comic special and with personality. They are very different with special
stories that told genres differents. Your First Class are good and more important: respect the past but make new stories. I read the first miniserie, published in Spain and i like very much. And the appareance of Gorilla-man of AOA is great. I have illusion for read the next book that publish in my country in November.

For me the controversy Kirkman don´t have sense: Marvel Adventures are new adventures with a good writers, for me you are the next generation of Marvel comics that in future write principal collections, and not story for childs only. Stories are intelligent with sense humour and good writed.
Kirkman had reason of owners creation but i think that is more easy say that when you are partner of Image because your two collections are bestsellers and Image members don´t like to lost him.

I think that comic-books of super-heroes and general don´t be for children otherwise are for teenagers and adults. But not exclude the children and they can read them. The actual state of comic-book SH is very dark and they not are heroes (Civil War, Crisis…) with a lot of violence and scripts very dark-and-gritty not at the service of story.

With the heart at the hand (expression of my country) i don´t let to read a children a actual comic-book because reasons that i said before. I let him Marvel Adventures, Agents of Atlas, Amazing Fantasy, comics of 60-80.. I read MA because are a good comics and for all-ages with best writers that create things that i like to read.

Agents of Atlas is a good example of comic-book good write and drawn wiht a structure, characters that grown in the pages and that you love is personallity… Yes I am big fan of AOA¡ Damn, is a excellent comic¡

Is Carlo Pagulayan the new penciller of AOA ongoing series? He is good.

I had very feel like read Age of Sentry.

PD: Agents of Atlas was published this week in Spain in a good edition.

    Hi Jeff.
Just finished the interview, really enjoyed it. Meant to thank you late last year when I picked up the Alex Toth book because it got me drawing again after about five years. Also can’t wait for the new Agents series.

Listening to that podcast got me thinkin’…when are you going to get Michael Cho onto X-Men: First Class for some covers and/or interior work? After remembering that X-Men poster you were talking about I think his art would be such a great fit! The man is a badass.
