  • Duin on Schultz

    markart.jpg

Durn, if it weren’t for The Comics Reporter, I would have missed one of my favorite columnists interviewing one of my favorite cartoonists. The Oregonian’s Steve Duin (who knows his comics) interviews Mark Schultz (who knows his dinosaurs and pulp). I cannot get enough of Mark’s art and stories. I also like how putting a Schultz piece up here completely classes up my website, though I had no part of making that picture.

Thanks for the link, Parker. Just been reading the Modern Masterworks interview with Schultz that came out recently, so I already had Xenoxoic fevah. Now only moreso!

There are guys you can appreciate (like Jack Kirby, Darwyn Cooke, Neal Adams) because, as good as they are/were, you can aspire to draw like them. Guys like Schultz…they just make your jaw drop to the floor in wonder. No human could draw that well.
