  • Hey US Airways, Try This

    akash-bhairab.jpg
“Please bring seatbacks and tray tables to their full upright position. And slaughter two clean goats to appease me.”

Since US Airways merged with America West, they’ve become the worst airline in the country, leaving me and many of my friends in their hellish hubs of Las Vegas and Phoenix for days on end without so much as hotel comps or free vouchers for more erratic flights. Maybe they should take a cue from Nepal Airlines, who sacrificed goats to get their flight schedules sorted out. There’s just something fascinating about mixing technology that whisks you through the stratosphere in pressurized tubes with primitive ritualism. And by fascinating I mean terrifying. Here’s a little more detail on it. But hey, it got them to Hong Kong.

No lie on US Airways. Getting out of LGA last time was ridiculous – 2 hours late. Fortunately, I booked my layover to go through Charlotte, so I was able to drive home to Columbia.

They say there are no aethists on the front lines… or, apparently, on the airlines, either :)

I just had a trip to Australia for a week and had four hops, three in the US and one starting in Oz. All three of the US hops were delayed on the ground at least two hours, only the Oz flight left on time. This is no longer a bug when flying in the US, it is a feature.
