WALK IN 4, Out Today

…I think. As I’ve mentioned before, Virgin doesn’t share that solicitation info in obvious places one can easily find it, like the internet. Hence I don’t have an image of the actual cover handy. So here’s the one for issue 2. The whole miniseries has essentially fallen off the radar despite strong opening reviews, because retailers mostly ordered the first issue (when all the promotion took place) and then forgot about it the next month. This is the infamous “Issue 2″ problem that plagues all new books with new characters and premises. The next thing I have launch I’m going to try to come up with some brilliant strategy that handles that problem once and for all.
-coff- …anyone’s got any brilliant strategies, feel free to leave them in the comments…-coff–

On a second tought… publish only #1s, start by the ending and then you put out books called “what happened with…”, then you’ll have you own Pulp Fiction ![]()
Any movie with a strange use of the time will do.

Publish only 2 comics! They’d HAVE to buy issue 2, right?
Um – publish issue 1 and then issue 5? Do 2 different covers for issue 2? Do 2 different endings? Print half as many comics of issue 1 as retailers ordered (Cutting down the drop-off?) Retailer incentive – free lollipop with every issue 2?

Start with issue 2, then publish the ending and then you fill in with prequels, it would be like reading Memento where the reader doesn’t know what the hell is going on until the end… but make it short or they’ll be pissed.
