  • Welcome to PARKERSPACE

Yep, the diner menu that never updates is GONE. And this homepage is now my weblog. A HUGE thanks to Steven Gettis for suffering through my emails and calls and presiding over the unholy marriage of html and css coding. The old version of the site can be seen by clicking on the Old Parkerspace link over at right. Thanks Blogger, for all the free publishing access, but the time for multiple websites has passed and now we can all gather here in my universe where Earth orbits somewhere beyond Saturn. Now that I use WordPress, adding to my blogroll is a much quicker process, and hopefully you’ll put this one into yours.

Look at this thing! It’s so…nicely put together and organized and…wait wait wait WHAT?!? Have I just stumbled upon the comics creator/journalist blockbuster of the year?

That’s twice that David’s name has been misspelled recently. I am digging the min-cover gallery on the new site.

I can thumbnail them, or keep them under a certain pixel width. What are you viewing with?

Simply smashing, old chap! Couldn’t get Bloglines to add the feed, though. I’ll keep trying…

I want to point out that my two favorite things about Gettis’ literary figures site were that you could obviously tell which artists panicked and fell back on, “Well, this guy’s KIND OF like a superhero. I’ll draw him,” and that Tom Mandrake drew Manly Wade Wellman’s John the Balladeer.

Exactly. That Mandrake piece is very nice, too. Oddly, my mom briefly took a fiction writing class in the 60′s at UNC-Chapel Hill, taught by Wellman!

That’s cool about your mom! I’ve been trying to pick up the books on the cheap, but they’re pretty rare for the most part, although there’s a nice boxset that I can’t afford. The first John the Balladeer story I read, I was sitting in the Asheville Airport in Arden, reading about John taking an airplane there. Pure creepy coincidence.

I suggest that you assign a title to this site, i.e. Parkerspace, so that it appears properly in windows and feeds, instead of just something like http://www.parkerspace.com/ or (title unknown) or blank.

Oops, now I remember why we didn’t do it before- it screws up my formatting. Gotta work that bug out and then do it.
